Norcia celebrates Good Friday with an impressive procession of over 300 extras and representations of tableaux of Christ’s passion.
The start is from “Capo la Terra” (the high zone of the town), close to the Porta Palatina, one of the seven gateways into Norcia.
The procession unwinds along the town walls, where the living tableaux showing the key moments of the Via Crucis (the Way of the Cross) are shown.
Their realism is amazing, such as to cause onlookers to experience Christ’s passion with deep intensity. Major Italian TV broadcasters have often filmed the procession because it is so beautiful.
